Novel 'Doko Yori mo Tooi Basho ni Iru Kimi e' Gets Anime Film For Fall 2026

Production company Shochiku announced an anime movie adaptation of Akiko Abe's Doko Yori mo Tooi Basho ni Iru Kimi e (To You in the Beyond) novel during its 2026–2027 lineup announcement on January 27. Abe wrote the mystery romance novel under Shueisha’s Orange Bunko imprint in October 2017, featuring illustrations by syo5. Acclaimed manga author Leiji Matsumoto died on February 13 at 11:00 a.m. due to acute heart failure at a hospital in Tokyo. He was 85 years old.
